Hello there, hope your doing well.
Phototropism is the growth of an organism which responds to a light stimulus. This is the term explains why plants grow through the light. Remember those scientific projects we did in high school (or elementary), where we put the plants in different locations and observe how they grow. Another experiment is where we put the plant in a box, with a pin hole of light, and results are it bends where the light is coming from, another result is it dies if without exposure with sunlight.
That explains the phrase "eyes are naturally drawn to the light", most often used in appreciating imagery or enhancing image. It means your subject in the photo should have the key light of the image, if not it will not draw its attention, and resulting to poor image. Therefore there is this image enhancing techniques of radial filters, vignette, dodging, and so on, in that the image subject should always be highlighted, or emphasized.

No wonder why light plays a vital role in photography. The etymology of photography is photo = light, and graph = drawing, therefore it is translated as "drawing with light", or "light painting". And a camera is a "light recorder", it records the light it receives, and how photographers control the camera, makes it an act of drawing the light. The result is a nicely exposed and composed image. But all of it will not be possible without the light. Without light we can't appreciate the wonderful scenery around us, and we can't record it and convert it to an artistic imagery.
In life LIGHT also plays a vital role, I think with out LIGHT there is no LIFE. That is why the earth is the perfect place for human beings, it is in the sweet spot of the sun's radiating light.

In the bible;
John 8:12 - "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life"
John 1:4 - "In him was life; and the life was the light of men"
John 12:46 - "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness."
1 John 1:5 - "This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all."
1 John 1:7 - "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. "
I hope just as the plant grows through the light, and how our eyes are naturally drawn to the light, that we will also be drawn to Jesus "the light of the world", and "not abide in darkness" anymore. And just as the light produce great images, Jesus will definitely do great things through us.
Till next time, God Bless.
